Night Time Treasure Hunt!

So after a long day of only being able to play in the house Eve was full of energy and finally wanted to get outside - but it was way too dark to be able to do anything...or was it?

I quickly gathered about ten small toys, ranging from small plastic animals to fuzzy finger puppets. I told her to wait on the front porch with her eyes closed as I hid all the items throughout the yard. I started out easy so she could get excited about the game. I hid things on the sidewalk, right on top of the grass and on the rocks lining the flower bed.

Then I gave her a flashlight and a bag to carry all of her treasures and we began our search. She had SO much fun finding everything, after each item she would scream in excitement. After the easy beginner round I had her go back on the porch and started hiding the items in harder places so we would have to search a little longer to find them.

We had so much fun finding  treasures! This is a wonderful toddler activity for that time of the year it gets way too dark way too early. Its super simple and as long as you've got a flashlight with batteries, grab some toys and go have an adventure!
